After a few weeks of repeated airings, TNA’s B show Xplosion was back this week with a new episode and naturally I am here to review it. I was pleased to finally see a first run episode again and really hoped that Spin Cycle was no longer a segment on the show. As you will see, my hopes went unfulfilled. Let’s get on with the review.

Chikara Wrestling is a promotion based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. For those not too familiar with the promotion, Chikara is based on the Lucha Libre style of wrestling and has been in existence since debuting in 2002. The promotion is very much gimmick orientated and many of their talent will wear masks.  The top championship in Chikara is the Chikara Grand Championship and is currently held by Princess Kimber lee, for which she became the first female wrestler to hold the top title in a major non-female promotion. This year sees them embark on their Aniversario 2016 UK Tour with seven stops in the UK; I attended the Birmingham show on Friday evening.

WrestleCentre is a terrific indy promotion that runs shows out of the Maritimes area in Canada. They have a big show upcoming at the Halifax Forum in Nova Scotia on June 24^th that will see JP Simms defending the IFWA World Title against “Mr Energy” Julien Young.

PWG All Star Weekend 12 Night Two Review

Following arguably PWG’s best show of 2016 in night one of ASW 12, the second shot of the double header didn’t quite reach the heights of the first night but still provided a couple of fantastic matches as well as the culmination of a six month storyline. Heading into the show, a relentless challenger in the form of Zack Sabre Jr finally received an opportunity to face the PWG Champion, Roderick Strong, in a singles contest as a new champion was crowned.

PWG All Star Weekend 12 Night One Review

PWG returned with a double shot for All Star Weekend 12, recorded on 03/04 and 03/05. That’s twelve weeks ago, for anyone counting. Anyway, I will spare you of the compulsory PWG’s distribution is more archaic than ….rant. ASW 12 marked the culmination of a storied feud between Roderick Strong, PWG Champion, and Zack Sabre Jr, the indefatigable challenger, that would be featured on night two.

Night one, though, as ever with PWG, featured prominent independent talent from across the globe in what was arguably the best PWG show of the year so far.
